Consider The Lilies Truth Tile

Consider The Lilies Truth Tile

A small square stoneware tile hand-stamped with "consider the lilies" - a gentle nudge to trust rather than worry, left in the range's natural matte finish so the words read through shadow and texture in the clay itself. Part of Selah Lifestyle's Truth Tiles collection, this piece uses the collection's undyed lettering treatment.

The tile

Flat and square, approximately 100mm x 100mm, with the softly hand-formed edges typical of slab-built pottery. "consider the lilies" is stamped letter by letter using a typewriter-style stamp set, all lowercase, left undyed against the tile's natural stoneware colour, reading across three lines.

The phrase

"Consider The Lilies" comes from Matthew 6:28, "Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin" — part of the same passage that opens "Do not be anxious about your life" (Matthew 6:25-34).

Handmade character

Every tile is handmade and hand-stamped, so small natural variations in stamp depth, texture and shape between individual pieces are normal - part of what makes each one unique, not a flaw.

Use

• Displayed flat on a shelf, nightstand or prayer corner
• Propped against a wall or used as a small wall tile
• Use as a rustic tile
• A quiet prompt to trust rather than worry, especially during an uncertain season

Gifting

A reassuring gift for someone carrying worry about money, work or the future - well suited to a "just because" gift, a new job or new season, or as a companion piece to Selah Lifestyle's "Do Not Be Anxious" tile, since both phrases come from the same passage in Matthew 6.

Care

This tile is stoneware fired to 1240°C, a fully vitrified temperature that makes the clay body dense and effectively waterproof even without a glaze. The standing recommendation is still hand wash only, in warm water with a mild detergent, dried thoroughly with a soft cloth. Not recommended for the dishwasher, microwave, oven or freezer. As with any ceramic piece, handle gently — it will chip or break if dropped onto a hard surface.
