Joy Unglazed Mini Ring Bowl

A small ceramic ring bowl with the word "joy" stamped again and again across the entire inside surface - not one line of text, but joy repeated until it covers the whole bowl. Part of Selah Lifestyle's Mini Ring Bowl collection, it's designed to sit on a bedside table, dressing table or by the sink, holding a ring, a pair of earrings, or a small trinket.

The bowl

With deeper, rounded sides than a flat ring dish, this piece has the gently irregular shape typical of hand-formed pottery. Unlike the rest of the Mini Ring Bowl collection, this piece is left unglazed - a raw, matte bisque finish in its natural clay tone, rather than the glossy cream glaze used elsewhere in the range. "joy" is stamped in small lowercase lettering, scattered repeatedly across the whole interior, visible through the texture and shadow of the impressions rather than a contrasting glaze colour.

The phrase

"Joy" is used here simply and repeatedly, as a word rather than a scripture quotation - the repetition itself is the design, joy stamped over and over until it fills the bowl.

Handmade character

Every piece is handmade and hand-stamped, so small natural variations in stamp depth, spacing and shape between individual bowls are normal — part of what makes each one unique, not a flaw. As an unglazed piece, the raw clay surface will also show more texture and natural variation than a glazed piece.

Care

Because this piece is unglazed, it should not be treated the same as the collection's glazed pieces. Unglazed bisque ceramic is porous, so it is not recommended for food contact and may absorb moisture, oils or colour from anything placed in it or from washing. Recommended for display and dry use only. Wipe with a dry or barely damp soft cloth only; avoid soaking. Handle gently - it will chip or break if dropped onto a hard surface.
