Rest Wall Vase

Rest Wall Vase

This small ceramic wall vase carries a single, quiet word: "rest." Hand-stamped in blue against a matte, unglazed ceramic body, it hangs from a jute cord and holds a stem or two in its own built-in pocket - a small, gentle nudge to slow down.

The phrase

"Rest" is a word with deep roots in Christian life, echoed in passages like Matthew 11:28 ("Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest") and in the idea of Sabbath rest more broadly. It works simply, as permission - worth having somewhere you'll see it on a busy day.

Product details

The vase is an oval, flat-backed piece with a wavy-edged front pocket formed into the lower half - deep enough to hold a stem or two of dried or fresh flowers or foliage. A jute cord is threaded through a punched hole near the top for hanging. The ceramic body is left in a matte, unglazed finish, with the phrase stamped by hand and picked out in blue.

Christian meaning

"Rest" sits alongside Selah Lifestyle's other hand-stamped pieces as a short, faith-inspired word rather than a decorative slogan, a reminder that rest isn't just something to fit in, but something worth being given permission for.

Use

Hang it on a wall, a door, a hook or a shelf edge, with a stem of dried wheat, lavender or another sprig tucked into the pocket, or leave the pocket empty and let the word do the work on its own.

Gifting

A simple, meaningful gift for a friend going through a busy or tiring season, a new mum, or anyone who could use permission to slow down - for a birthday, a get-well gift, an encouragement gift, or a "just because."

Handmade character

Each vase is handmade and hand-stamped, so small natural variations in stamp depth, letter spacing, pocket shape and the exact tone of the blue infill between individual pieces are normal - part of the piece's handmade character, not a flaw.
