Salad Bowl – "Arise, My Love" | Hand-Stamped Ceramic Bowl

A bowl that carries an invitation

This handmade ceramic salad bowl is hand-stamped with the words "Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run away with me to the highest place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me," stamped in two concentric lines that wrap around the wide well of the bowl. It's finished in a glossy cream glaze, with the phrase stamped in soft blue lettering.

The phrase

This phrase is taken from Song of Solomon 2:10 - 2:13. Read as an invitation: to rise, to draw near, to be called beautiful and beloved - it brings a tender, romantic thread of scripture to the everyday table.

Handmade character

Every piece is hand-shaped and hand-stamped, so small variations in glaze, stamp depth, texture and shape between individual bowls are normal, part of what makes each one unique, not a flaw. Because this phrase is long, it's stamped in two concentric lines around the well, so parts of the lettering will read upside-down or at an angle depending on where you're standing, a natural consequence of fitting the full phrase around a circular bowl, not a fault.

Use and gifting

Use it as a salad bowl, a sharing bowl for sides, or a serving centrepiece at the table. Its gentle, romantic wording also makes it a thoughtful gift for a wedding, anniversary, engagement or "just because"  a meaningful way to say something tender without needing the words yourself.
