Square Trinket Tray – Joy for Mourning

This square trinket tray is hand-shaped in soft cream glaze and hand-stamped with "joy for mourning," the words stacked across its centre in three lines. It's a small tray for the practical things: rings, earrings, everyday trinkets and, in what it carries, a quiet companion for grief, given as a gift rather than words that try to fix it.

The phrase

"Joy for mourning" comes directly from Isaiah 61:3, which speaks of God giving "beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning." It's not a promise that grief disappears quickly, but a picture of comfort and restoration held out to those who mourn; something to sit with, not rush past.

Handmade character

Each tray is hand-built and hand-stamped, so the edges have a soft, slightly waved line rather than a perfectly straight one, and the glaze pools and settles a little differently on every piece.
