The Winter Is Over Truth Tile

"The winter is over" – a quiet declaration that the cold, hard season has come to an end

"The winter is over" is hand-stamped into this handmade ceramic Truth Tile – two short lines that speak of hope, thaw and new life breaking through. It doesn't ask anything of the person holding it; it simply states something true.

The design

Made from stoneware fired at a high temperature for durability, this tile is left in its natural, matte stoneware finish with no colour infill, so the lettering is read through light and shadow alone – a soft, tonal look that changes gently as the light moves across it. Each letter is hand-pressed in a classic typewriter-style face. The phrase sits across two lines just above the centre of the tile, aligned to the left, with open clay below like space still waiting to bloom.

The phrase

This wording is from Song of Songs 2:11, part of the beloved's invitation to rise and come away because the cold months are behind them and spring has arrived. The full verse reads: "for now the winter is past, the rains are over and gone." (NRSV) It pairs naturally with our "The season has changed" Truth Tile, which draws on the same verse.

Use

Designed to sit on a shelf, windowsill, desk or prayer corner, or to be propped against a wall as a quiet visual reminder.

Gifting

A meaningful gift for someone stepping out of a long, hard season – after illness, grief, a difficult year or a long wait. Also lovely for the first days of spring, a recovery or remission milestone, a wedding or anniversary, or as an encouragement gift for a friend who needs reminding that brighter days have come.

Handmade character

Each Truth Tile is handmade and hand-stamped, so small natural variations in stamp depth, texture, shape and edge finish between individual pieces are normal – part of what makes each tile genuinely one of a kind, not a flaw.
